WPD investigating armed robbery

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are investigating an armed robbery on Darlington Ave. late Thursday night.

According to Cathryn Lindsay with the Wilmington Police, around 11:52 p.m. the victim picked up a stranger who was asking for a ride. When the suspect got in, he pulled out a revolver, and demanded to be driven to the 100 block of Darlington Avenue. The victim says he took the man to the Market North Apartments. When they arrived, four other men came out from behind the building and demanded his things, took the items, and ran off.

Police were able to locate most of the items. Detectives and CSI investigated at the scene. No suspects have been caught at this time.
