WPD: One dead, one critical after last night’s shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man has died and another remains in critical condition after a shooting last night in Wilmington, but at this time police do not know if they are victims of the same shooting.

WPD spokeswoman Linda Rawley says they got a ShotSpotter alert in the 3600 block of Metting Road around 8:25 p.m.

Rawley says police found Eric Huff, 37,  with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Rawley says he died a short time later.

About 20 minutes later, another man, Dequan Norman, 23, drove himself to the hospital in critical condition. Rawley says Norman had multiple gunshot wounds and is still critical.

Police say they are not sure if the shootings are related. They are still investigating.
