WPD searching for man involved in shooting
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are looking for Roy Augusta Smith II, who they say was involved in a shooting Friday evening.
Police say the shooting took place outside the MLK Center at 401 S. 8th Street.
Callers said a male suspect shot into a vehicle as the vehicle was leaving the area. The victim drove himself to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the hip.
Police describe Smith as a black male, about 5’10 tall and 170 pounds. He has a tattoo on his right forearm that says “outlaw.”
WPD advises citizens not to approach Smith if they see him, but to call police at (910) 343-3609 or Text-a-Tip.
