WSSU refunds money to Paul game ticketholders
WINSTON-SALEM, NC (AP) — Winston-Salem State University is refunding money to hundreds of people who had no seats to an exhibition featuring Chris Paul and other NBA stars even though the fans had bought tickets.
School spokeswoman Nancy Young told the Winston-Salem Journal that Chancellor Donald Reaves is investigating the problem. Campus Police Chief Pat Norris and the auditing office are helping in the review.
The game Saturday also featured LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony. It was held at the 3,200-seat Gaines Center.
Paul is from nearby Lewisville and gave a $25,000 check to Winston-Salem State, which both of his parents attended.
Charles and Robin Paul were among those who came to the school Monday looking for answers. Robin Paul says they want to be sure everyone gets their money back.
