Young entrepreneurs to compete in Shark Tank-style competition in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Young entrepreneurs from New Hanover and Pender counties will have the opportunity to showcase their business ideas Friday during a Shark Tank-style competition in Wilmington.
The Genesis Block Foundation will host its second annual Youth Entrepreneurship Shark Tank Competition on Friday, Oct. 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cape Fear Community College’s Union Station building.
The event will bring together high school students from both counties to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges while demonstrating their creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial skills.
According to the Genesis Block Foundation, the competition is part of a two-part youth pitch series designed to introduce students to entrepreneurship and help them develop confidence in presenting their ideas.
Participants will have the opportunity to receive feedback and encouragement from judges as they explain their business concepts.
The foundation says the event is intended to highlight the talent and potential of local students while emphasizing the importance of creating opportunities for the next generation of business owners and community leaders.
The competition will take place on the fourth floor of CFCC’s Union Station building, Room 470, located at 502 N. Front St. in downtown Wilmington.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16.
