Carolina Beach council approves new Harris Teeter

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Carolina Beach Town Council voted Tuesday night to approve the permit to build a new Harris Teeter

The new grocery store will be built on the 1000 block of Lake Park Blvd.

Residents came out to voice their opinions about the new store, and most seemed to be in favor of approving the permit.

“We’re actually very excited about it,” said Scott Seifer, a Carolina Beach resident. “We just moved to the area and we’re seeing all the growth and improvements that are being made, we see the Harris Teeter as a very positive thing showing that the community can handle an additional grocery store.”

The new Harris Teeter location will include a pharmacy, coffee shop, and gas pumps. It’s still unknown when construction will begin.
