Cable out at Oak Island

Due to digging and construction associated with an ongoing water and sewer plant upgrade in Oak Island, Time Warner Cable lines have been damaged. As a result, some customers in the area have experienced a disruption of service.

Wilmington to host Sociable City Forum

Wilmington Downtown Incorporated will host a nightlife forum later this year to help address violence downtown. The executive director for WDI John Hinnant says this forum is the first step in creating a master plan to curb violence downtown.

Phony workmen conning people with old driveway paving scam

WPD detectives have received a couple of complaints this week about a scam involving driveway and parking lot paving. This scam reappears every few years, most often in the spring and summer months.

Second case of rabies confirmed in Brunswick County
