Volunteers fill UNCW to help Stop Hunger Now

Strickland arrested again

A Tabor City boy with ties to State Sen. R.C. Soles was in jail Sunday for the second time in less than a week. Thursday Allen Strickland wound up in jail accused of setting fire to a house Soles bought him. Sunday the 17-year-old was back behind bars because of his car the Senator paid for.

Rural areas still waiting for broadband

Strickland makes first court appearance, claims innocence

A Tabor City teen charged with burning down his own house made his first appearance in court Friday. The house is owned by Allen Strickland who is accused of burning down the house, which was bought for him by Senator RC Soles.

Smoking ban causes frustration with downtown businesses

Wilmington River Group misses deadline again

The City of Wilmington may be looking for a new developer to build the convention center hotel. Wilmington River Group, the developer of choice, had until Friday to come up with a one million dollar line of credit ensuring they could complete Hotel Indigo.

New Hanover County sheriff's looking for missing man

The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office needs your help finding a missing man. Charles Vincent Harkey has not been seen since Tuesday. He goes by the name Vince and is 5 foot 8, 200 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes, and a goatee.
