Thanks to redistricting, our area will be served by two members of the US House of Representatives. Much of Pender County and part of Wilmington are now in the 3rd Congressional District. Rep. Walter Jones has held that seat for 18 years, but this year he has a challenge in the Republican primary from former New Bern Police Chief Frank Palombo. Today Palombo discussed why he believes Congress needs term limits and why folks in our area should not feel marginalized in their new district.

In 2010, Ilario Pantano easily won the Republican nomination for North Carolina's 7th District seat in Congress before losing to incumbent Rep. Mike McIntyre in the general election. Pantano has been working ever since to try again. He says a lot has changed since his first run for Congress.
David Rouzer is in the middle of his second term in the state Senate. Now the Republican from Johnston County wants to serve in Washington. Rouzer filed to run for US House yesterday in North Carolina's 7th Congressional District, which has a much different look this election year.

The latest filing with the Federal Election Commission shows Republican Congressional candidate Ilario Pantano's campaign has only $8,912.24 cash on hand. His primary opponent, State Sen. David Rouzer, has more than $221,000 cash on hand. Full story...
