Wilmington's Derek Brunson will not be the crowd favorite on Saturday when the UFC fighter faces Brazil's Ronny Markes in Forteleza, Brazil. Brunson will be in enemy territory. The Wilmington Hammerheads haven't won a league game on the road all season. On Wednesday the Harrisburg City Islanders kept that statistic alive with a 2-0 victory over the Hammerheads. On Tuesday the North Brunswick Scorpions advanced in the state baseball playoffs. Trask advanced in the softball playoffs. Ashley High has a new head basketball coach. NC State football coach Dave Doeren rolled into Wilmington to meet with the Wilmington Wolfpack Club. UNCW racked up at the CAA baseball awards banquet. The Bobcats will be the Hornets soon. The Brunswick Community College Dolphins won their first Region 10 baseball title on Monday night. The BCC Dolphins beat Lenoir 9-5 in Morehead City to earn an invitation to the national junior college baseball tournament later this month in Oklahoma. Check out our highlights from BCC's win.
