Republican Jeff Howell isn't shy about having little experience in the political arena; however, he says his military career coupled with owning a business is experience enough to work for the people. Throughout the years he's lived in Pender County, Howell has met residents, listened to their concerns and volunteered his time at schools and with community programs.
Chris Millis is a conservative candidate for North Carolina House District 16. Calling himself a "warrior of the conservative cause," Millis is calling for education reform and a lower tax burden for citizens. Millis grew up in Pender County, graduated from North Carolina State University, then returned to Hampstead to begin a career as a Civil Engineer. He says his professional background and personal life make him an ideal candidate to work for the people. Chris and his wife, Tonya, have a son Luke, and are eager for the arrival of a baby girl this summer.
