#1 Florida State headed to Raleigh on Saturday

RALEIGH, NC (WWAY) — When top ranked Florida State visits Carter-Finley Stadium on Saturday it will mark the first time in school history the nation’s No. 1 team has played on the Wolfpack’s home field. NC State has faced the No. 1 team three times in history, all on the road. We have reaction from Dave Doeren, Pharoah McKever and Dave Doeren.

The focus of attention has been on one thing, and one thing only for NC State this week. It’s Saturday’s matchup in Raleigh versus the defending national champion Florida State Seminoles. Jimbo Fisher is the FSU head coach. “I’m looking forward to NC State. It’ll be a great challenge. They are 4-0. We are playing at 3:30 on Saturday.”

Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston did not play last weekend vs. Clemson, but Winston will be back in the lineup against the Wolfpack and former South Columbus Stallion Pharoah McKever. We asked McKever about the possibility of tackling Jameis Winston. “That’s the goal,” McKever said. “We’re excited. We went down to Tallahassee last year. Things didn’t work out. We want a bit of revenge.” NC State head coach Dave Doeren added.
“This is why you play the game. For the chance to play against a great team. Two undefeated teams. Our players will be jacked to play this game. I know they will.”

WWAY TV will air the Florida State-NC State game on Saturday at 3:30.
