$1 million bond for Sunset Beach fraud suspect

SUNSET BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Sunset Beach Police Department arrested a man accused of defrauding a resident of a substantial amount of money.

Olanrewaju Aju Thomas is charged with two counts of exploiting disable/elder, felony conspiracy and obtaining property under false pretense.

Sunset Beach Police wrote on their Facebook that they were able to recover some of the lost funds.

Thomas is currently in the Brunswick County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 bond.

He is scheduled to make his first court appearance tomorrow.
