10-year-old granted wish to visit New York City
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — All it takes is one wish, a little help and sometimes your dream will come true.
For one New Hanover county child, that happened.
David is 10-years-old and is diagnosed with Duchenne’s muscular dystrophy.
All he wanted to do is go to the Big Apple, otherwise known as New York City.
To his surprise, he will be.
Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina is granting David’s wish.
The organization held a party for the 10-year-old at Dock Street Oyster Bar, yesterday.
He says he is really excited for the trip, and so is his mother.
“I think he Googled New York probably 30 times in the first week. You know, and just going page after page of just kids activities. So yeah, he’s got his sights set high on everything he wants to do. Mind you we only have six days,” Louise Forbes-Simpson, David’s mother, said.
David will be heading to New York soon and the first thing on his list is a stop at the Lego store.
He hopes to see and do as much as he can while visiting the Big Apple.
