10th anniversary of the disappearance of Ebonee Spears

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– January 15th marks the 10th anniversary of the disappearance of Ebonee Spears. At that time, Spears was 30-years old and was working at UNCW. She was last seen at the front desk of the Wilmington Police Department. Her disappearance prompted a widespread search and an outpouring of community support.

Monica Caison is the Founder of the Wilmington-Based Non-profit, Cue Center for Missing Persons. She has also been involved in efforts to raise awareness about the case.

“We have done candlelight vigils, butterfly releases, walks and marches. We have done visual displays, thousands of missing person posters, and billboards. We have constantly kept her out there, constantly continued to search, and hoping every event we do brings forth an awareness,” said Caison.

The Cue Center for Missing Persons is still offering a 5-thousand-dollar reward for any information leading to information about Spear’s disappearance.
