12-year-old showing film at Black Film Festival
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The 14th Annual NC Black Film Festival will have one of its youngest participants ever this year.
Twelve-year-old Malik Gordon of D.C. Virgo is among the filmmakers featured this weekend.
The sixth grader says his film is about his uncle Rodney's experience in Operation Desert Storm. He says he is proud of himself for being a part of the festival.
"It's always a new experience. It's always something fun to do. It's just a different experience than everyday life, so it's real cool,” Gordon said.
Festival films will be shown at different places in Wilmington throughout the weekend.
