12 injured in NC bus wreck
HENDERSON, N.C. (AP) — The Highway Patrol says 12 people have minor injuries after a bus driver fell asleep and his vehicle ran off the road and rolled onto its side.
The wreck occurred about 5:45 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. 1 as the bus traveled south in Vance County. Troopers said there were 29 passengers on the bus.
Patrol spokesman Lt. Everett Clendenin said the injured passengers aboard the Greyhound bus were taken to a hospital in Henderson for treatment.
Clendenin said the bus driver was charged with careless and reckless driving.
