13 students injured in bus accident in Cumberland County

FAYETTEVILLE (AP) — State troopers say 13 middle school students were taken to a hospital today after a dump truck collided with their school bus in Cumberland County.

The Highway Patrol says 12 students suffered minor injuries and one student had serious injuries. They were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.

Drivers of the bus and the truck also had minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.

The patrol says the truck was turning and failed to yield to the bus, struck it and caused it to roll onto its left side.
