18-year-old shot to death in Smithfield

SMITHFIELD, NC (AP) — An 18-year-old Clayton man has been shot and killed at a house in Smithfield.

Police said they found Ra’sheive DaShawn Ray dead from a gunshot wound shortly before 1 a.m. Thursday.

Lt. Keith Powell says residents in the home reported they heard gunshots but did not see anything.

No arrests have been reported.
