$2 million Powerball ticket sold in Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Someone in Brunswick County is a lucky Powerball winner. A $2 million Powerball ticket was sold in Calabash over the weekend.

According to a spokesman for the North Carolina Education Lottery, the ticket was sold at the Minuteman Food Mart on Beach Drive. The ticket matached all five white balls drawn, beating the odds of 1 in 11.7 million. The addition of the $1 Power Play doubled the $1 million dollar prize.

The winning numbers were 17-19-21-37-44 for the white balls and 16 for the red Powerball. A ticket sold in Tennessee matched all six numbers, winning the $421 million jackpot.
