One feature of the bailout may help shine a little light on some green businesses. Advanced Green Technologies say they have already seen an increase in calls since the government approved a 30 percent federal tax rebate with the bailout.

Man with axe attacks deputy

It was an unnerving start to the week for a Brunswick County deputy. Deputy Justin Stadler responded to a break-in call on Dogwood Road in Winnabow around three o’clock Monday afternoon, to find a man standing in the road holding an axe.

Wachovia bank robbed Monday

Police said a man tried to cash a check at the Wachovia at Shipyard Boulevard and 17th Street. The teller refused, and as the man was leaving the bank he spotted a bag of money in front of another teller.
