Tropical storm Hanna’s approach was watched closely by many in the port city. Around 3:00 a.m. a crowd along Eastwood Road decided to feel her breeze.
Today there were a lot of curious onlookers at Wrightsville Beach. Those were not the only folks heading toward the beach, instead of away from it during the storm.
Some folks spent the day making some last minute preparations for Hanna’s arrival. Whether it was to hunker down, or get out of town, today was about stocking up and packing up.
Students at UNCW are pretty calm even before a storm approaches our area. But as a precaution, school officials canceled all classes and issued a voluntary evacuation.
Hanna has grounded flights at Wilmington’s airport.
