Two Wilmington men face charges after incident at hotel

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police said two Wilmington men face charges for going armed to the terror of the public after an incident at an area hotel Thursday night.

Wilmington Police said just before 11 p.m., officers were called to the Value Place Hotel at 2657 Carolina Beach Road after getting reports of a man banging on a door with a shotgun.

When they got to the scene police said they found the man, Robert Samuel Fulton, Jr., 25, standing next to an occupied vehicle. During a search, officers said they found another firearm inside the car belonging to the driver, Darryl Joseph Waddell, 24.

That’s when police said Waddell took off running before officers caught up with him and arrested him.

Waddell is charged with going armed to the terror of the public, resisting officers, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of marijuana.

Police said Fulton is also charged with going armed to the terror of the public.
