Teacher of the week: Mike Kelly

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The entire student body and faculty at Isaac Bear Early College wanted to be on hand to cheer for Teacher of the Week Mike Kelly.

When faced with all of his students he was overwhelmed, but quick to point out that the kids are the reason he’s a teacher.

Mr. Kelly calls his job as a teacher “the greatest job in the world” and says he doesn’t teach just teach chemistry, he teaches kids how to be chemists.

He also quickly adds that there is more to education that what kids read in books, saying teaching is more about getting kids to be “good, productive citizens”.
