Brothers charged in Wilmington murder

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A spokeswoman with the Wilmington Police Department have charged two men in connection with the murder of a 32-year-old man.

Police said Christopher Maurice Wigfall, 23, and Rashaun Dawayne Nugent, 20, are facing first degree murder charges. Police said they arrested the brothers yesterday afternoon by members of WPD/U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force with the help of the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said they are charged in the death of Lavar Desmond Riley, 32. Riley was found shot in the 1000-block of Orange Street on April 29. He died the next day.

Police said both men are validated gang members and are being held under no bond.
