Gov. Cooper to visit Wilmington, talk GenX

RALEIGH, NC (STARNEWS) — N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper will be in Wilmington Monday to meet with local officials to talk about the state’s next steps to address the discovery of GenX in the Cape Fear River.

Cooper spokeswoman Sadie Weiner confirmed the visit late Wednesday, but couldn’t provide more details on the meeting.

The governor’s announcement comes two days after local officials expressed concerns about the lack of answers coming from the state and federal levels.
