LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The first three tenants have signed lease agreements with Ocean Gate Plaza, a new office and retail center that will soon break ground on New Pointe Boulevard in Leland.
According to a news release, tenants include Hibachi Bistro, Dunkin Donuts and Bridgewater Wines.
Ocean Gate Plaza is a development of Hibachi Bistro LLC, a limited liability company managed by Yu Hang Wang. Ocean Gate Plaza is going to be an 11,163-square-foot, one-story building next to the Walmart shopping center on Hwy 17 in Leland.
“Ocean Gate Plaza has the perfect location adjacent to a wide variety of retailers and service companies in one of the fastest growing areas of Brunswick County,” said Hank Adams, Vice President and Office and Investment Specialist with Coldwell Banker Commercial SunCoast. “We still have three 1,500 square foot units available and anticipate these will be leased quickly.”
The groundbreaking is expected to happen next month with construction finished by March.
Hibachi Bistro will anchor the new retail center with a new 3,163 square foot restaurant offering Japanese cuisine, sushi and a hibachi grill menu. Wang is the owner of two existing Hibachi Bistro restaurants in Wilmington.
Coastal Franchising, LLC, owner of 40 Dunkin Donuts locations in North and South Carolina, including five stores in Wilmington, has leased 2,000 square feet at Ocean Gate Plaza for its first location in the Leland area.
The new store will also offer a drive-thru service.
“We are very excited about the Leland market and look forward to serving the world’s best coffee and donuts to the community,” said George Ross, CEO of Coastal Franchising.
The third newly signed tenant at Ocean Gate Plaza is Bridgewater Wines, a retailer of domestic and international wines. Susan and Doug Zucker, owners of Bridgewater Wines, recently moved to the area from New York, where Doug worked for Stew Leonard’s Wines for 30 years. Zucker says he has extensive connections with vineyards and producers all over the world and looks forward to introducing his customers to a great selection of wines in all price points.
Bridgewater Wines will be located in 1,500 square feet and will feature wine, beer, light hors d’oeuvres and wines by the glass, as well as frequent tastings, winemaker visits and educational events.
