Pedestrian struck and killed in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A pedestrian was struck and killed on Carolina Beach Rd. near legion stadium Saturday.

According to Wilmington Police spokeswoman Jennifer Dandron, a call came in around 5:25 p.m. regarding a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian did not survive.

Carolina Beach Road was closed in both directions.

No word yet on charges against the driver.
