Brunswick County man facing numerous drug charges


COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — An Ocean Isle Beach man faces charges relating to a December traffic stop in Tabor City.

According to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, on December 6, detectives stopped David Austin Redwine, 32, for speeding. The sheriff’s office says they found 2 grams of heroin and suboxone sublingual films.

The sheriff’s office says the heroin was packaged in individual plastic bags for easy distribution. At the end of the investigation, deputies arrested Redwine on Thursday.

He is charged with the following:

Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule III controlled substance
Maintaining vehicle for controlled substance
Possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver heroin

His bond is set at $50,000.
