Chemours to spend $100M to reduce airborne GenX by 99%

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Chemours says it is installing state-of-the-art technology to reduce airborne emissions of Genx by 99 percent.

This is the company’s response to the Department of Air Quality’s 60-day notice of intent to modify their air quality permit.

Chemours says they will spend more than $100 million on this new technology.

It would be in place by late 2019 or early 2020.

Chemours says it hopes the DAQ will work cooperatively with Chemours to address any remaining concerns.
