Two wanted after crash causes power outage in Wrightsville Beach

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Police are looking for two people who they say ran away after they crashed into a power pole, causing a massive power outage at Wrightsville Beach this weekend.

The accident happened on Waynick Boulevard Saturday afternoon.

Wrightsville Beach Police Department tell WWAY a Chevrolet Tahoe struck a pole.

Police say both the driver and passenger ran from the SUV.

The accident knocked out power to many homes and businesses. Power was restored early Sunday morning.

Police have not released the driver or passenger’s names, but WWAY was told warrants have been issued for their arrest.
