WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Wilmington Police have arrested the woman wanted in a hit and run that left a woman with injuries.

Police arrested Courtnay Danielle Lawrence, 21, on Tuesday night.

Lawrence is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, felony hit and run and driving without a license.

The crash happened February 6 on Rutledge Drive. A man and woman were walking down the street when a black sedan swerved off the road and hit the woman. The man jumped out of the way.

Investigators say they found a photo of Lawrence posing with the damaged car that was posted to social media immediately after the crash.

Police say their investigation into the hit and run revealed Lawrence intentionally attempted to strike the man, who is the father of her four children, and did hit the woman with whom he was walking.

Magistrate Laura Barnes issued Lawrence a $25,000 unsecured bond.
