Husband of college provost killed in robbery in SC

CHARLESTON, SC (AP) — Authorities say the husband of a provost at the College of Charleston has been shot and killed just weeks after moving to South Carolina.

The College of Charleston says 63-year-old Tom DiLorenzo was walking with his wife several blocks south of the college campus on King Street around 6:15 a.m. when he was shot.

No arrests have been made.

DiLorenzo’s wife is Suzanne Austin. She is the new provost and executive vice president of academic affairs at the College of Charleston.

DiLorenzo retired in June after seven years as provost and vice president of academic affairs at the University of North Dakota.
