Body washes ashore in Caswell Beach early Friday

CASWELL BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Authorities are investigating after a body washed ashore in Caswell Beach early Friday morning.

The body was found by beachgoers around 6:10 a.m. near the Pinehurst Rd. beach access, according to Caswell Beach police.

Police did not identify the body, but say it was a man in his late 50’s or early 60’s.

The body was taken to Dosher Hospital pending identification.
