Columbus County Animal Control Director arrested
WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – The director of Columbus County Animal Control was arrested over the weekend after being involved in a domestic dispute.
Loretta Shipman was arrested on Saturday, Mar. 27, and charged with assault by pointing a gun.
Shipman was also charged with trespassing and damage to personal property.
Shipman is being held in the Columbus County jail until she is able to go before a judge on Monday, Mar. 29.
Columbus County Sheriff Jody Greene says that it is protocol in domestic dispute matters to keep someone in the jail until they are able to see a judge.
