Police arrest duo charged with Whiteville armed robbery

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Whiteville Police arrested the second of two suspects after they say the duo robbed Sam’s Pit Stop Monday night, according to a spokesman.

Alvin Anthony Lowery, 30, was first arrested during a traffic stop and ensuing foot chase with officers. Lowery is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, fleeing to elude, assault on a government official and conspiracy to commit an armed robbery.

The spokesman said further investigation led officers to Eddie Jerome Langs, 28, who they arrested early Tuesday. Langs is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit an armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon.

A semi-automatic weapon was also recovered during the investigation, according to the spokesman. Both men were booked in the Columbus County Detention Center.
