Man recovering from Wilmington shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A man is recovering in the hospital today following a Monday morning shooting.

Police said they got a report of two men shooting at each other at around 8:49 a.m. in the 1500 block of S. 12th Street. When police arrived on scene, they didn’t find anybody. Police then received a report of a gunshot victim at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Police have been unable to speak to that man due to surgery, a spokeswoman said.

Police later recovered several shell casings on the scene. They said the man should recover from his injuries.
