Trial set for April in Wilmington shooting that left man paralyzed

WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — A Wilmington man charged in a February shooting that left the victim paralyzed backed out of a plea deal Tuesday morning and instead set the case for trial.

Sharod Jamar Bryant, 25, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, second-degree kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a stolen firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Bryant is accused of shooting Glenn Cameron, 47, once in the chest during a robbery at a Market Street hotel. The injury left the Rocky Point man paralyzed from the waist down.
