UPDATE: Midway Rd. back open after person extricated from vehicle

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Dispatchers said a portion of Midway Road is back open after it was closed as crews worked to clear the scene of a single-car crash early Friday morning.

Brunswick County Dispatch said just before 6 a.m. the crash was reported in the 2700 block of Midway Road near Highway 211. They said someone was trapped inside, and had to be extricated from the vehicle.

Troopers, Brunswick County Sheriff’s Deputies, EMS, St. James and Oak Island crews all responded to the scene. Dispatchers said the person hurt in the crash was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
