2 men arrested in death of NC man in burning car

CHARLOTTE — Two men have been arrested in the death of a North Carolina man whose body was found in a burning vehicle last weekend.

Multiple media outlets reported the men were arrested early Tuesday and charged with murder in the death of 24-year-old Luis Miguel Catalan.

Police say 28-year-old Lavandus Markiest Houston and 24-year-old Jacorean James Small are being held in the Mecklenburg County jail. It was unclear Wednesday if they had attorneys.

Police say Catalan’s body was found in a burning vehicle shortly after 4:15 p.m. Saturday. Officers have not released a motive.
