2 NC school principals fly with the Blue Angels
CHERRY POINT AIR STATION, N.C. — Two North Carolina school principals have soared through the clouds with a Blue Angels pilot.
The Sun Journal of New Bern reported the principals got a chance to fly with one of the Navy demonstration team flyers on Wednesday as the team prepares for the Cherry Point Air Show this weekend.
Sixty-five-year-old New Bern High School principal Tom Marsh and 39-year-old H.J. MacDonald Middle School principal Karen Wood took separate flights Wednesday.
Marsh says he wasn’t nervous before or during the flight and says he didn’t “lose it.”
Wood says she had “butterflies” but had confidence in the pilot, Lt. C.J. Simonsen.
The principals each got a video of their flight showing them in the cockpit, along with framed photograph signed by the Blue Angels team.
