3-year-old rescued from ocean

NORTH TOPSAIL BEACH, NC (WWAY) — North Topsail Beach emergency officials rescued a three-year-old boy out of the ocean this afternoon.

It happened off of New River Inlet Road in Onslow County around 1:50 p.m. Town officials say fire, EMS and police responded.

The boy was airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center. His name and condition have not been released.
