Protesters call for Sen. Burr to ‘do his job’

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) —  As part of a national day of action, volunteers from Organizing for America gathered near the Murchison building today.

The group was calling for Senator Burr to “do his job” and consider a hearing and vote for President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee. Burr and other Republicans believe the vacant seat should be filled after the election of a new president.

Vernon Moore with OFA said it all comes down to what the constitution states.

“It says it’s the President’s job to nominate and the Senate’s job to consider and advise and consent,” Moore said.
