Little Free Library opens at Wallace Park
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A national trend has made its way to Wilmington.
Little Free Library started in Wisconsin and is based on a ‘give a book, take a book’ system.
Today, one of those was installed at the city’s Wallace Park.
Pasha Krise saw this idea in another city and thought it would be perfect for the Port City.
She says the structure fits about 20 books for children and adults.
“You can take it home with you, return it if you would like, or pass it on to someone else if you would like,” Krise said. “The whole concept is that we have so many wonderful books in the world and why not enjoy them amongst ourselves.”
The Fork ‘N’ Cork restaurant donated the structure.
Krise says Wallace Park was a great place to put the library because there are benches and tall oak trees to sit under which makes it a nice reading environment.
