Hundreds come out to Leland egg hunt
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — Hundreds of egg hunters came out for Leland’s annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday.
This year, the event was moved to North Brunswick High School to accommodate a larger crowd. There were six different hunting areas that catered to everyone from babies to 10-year-olds. Pastor Scott Hennis volunteered with his church and said the event is all about spending time with family.
“We believe in the community, we think that it’s important for the families in Leland, no matter what the families look like or they’re made up of, to come to come together and just have some fun together,” Hennis said.
Hennis said there were 12,000 eggs and some included a prize of a board game and a restaurant gift card for the families.
The event is put on by the Leland Parks & Recreation Department and volunteers from four area churches volunteer.
