The numbers are in for the 2016 MDA Muscle Walk

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The 2016 MDA Muscle Walk of Eastern Carolinas raised thousands in an effort to help kids and adults with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related muscle-weakening diseases.

Organizers said the walk on March 19 raised nearly $48,000. They said more than 250 people turned out at the event in support of the MDA event at Wilmington’s Hugh MacRae Park.

Teams of families, friends, neighbors, local business and public supporters all joined forces for the annual walk.

Money raised helps provide life-enhancing programs, groups and clinics, according to a release.
