Authority: Port of Wilmington seeing continued growth

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Ports Authority said the Port of Wilmington is seeing a continued trend of growth with containerized cargo volumes.

The authority said it saw a banner year in 2015. It also said North Carolina’s ports are among the fastest growing on the US East Coast by container volume growth percentage.

Some big improvements are also going on at the port, including new cranes and a wider turning basin.
