4 people injured when geese cause wreck
CHARLOTTE — Police say four people were injured in a four-vehicle wreck on an interstate highway caused when a flock of geese tried to cross the roadway.
The Charlotte Observer reported Sunday that the incident occurred about 9:46 a.m. on Interstate 485 near South Boulevard and that the road was shut down briefly.
North Carolina Highway Patrol Sgt. Ben Miller said one vehicle had slowed to avoid the geese, but was hit by another car and a motorcycle. A fourth vehicle also collided one other car.
Miller said the motorcycle driver and his companion had broken bones.
