5 inmates charged in Columbus County prison stabbing

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office has charged five inmates in connection with a prison stabbing.

It happened September 8 at the Columbus Correctional Institution.

An inmate was stabbed multiple times and taken to Columbus Regional Healthcare System for treatment.

Earlier this week, the sheriff’s office charged Ahmad Brooks, Dedric Mckenzie, Ravontae Bess-Staton, Anthony Mitchell, and Damarick Harper.
