$50,000 reward offered in NC soda plant shooting
CHARLOTTE — A $50,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the conviction of the person who killed two people in an apparent robbery at the Sun-drop Bottling plant in
Concord earlier this month.
Deputy Concord Police Chief Guy Smith says the money came from the beverage industry and “concerned citizens.” The Charlotte Observer reported Smith would not elaborate, but said it was the largest reward he can recall in his 27 years on the force.
Smith said Monday police are making progress.
Fifty-nine-year-old Sun-drop employee Donna Barnhardt and 44-year-old job applicant Darrell Noles were shot to death at the plant June 13.
Police are looking for a man seen leaving the plant carrying something.
Anyone with information can call police at 704-920-5000.
